Luca starts the year at Tri-C as he left off, except now he’s running in the KA100 Senior class – with drivers 16 to 35 years of age. Luca is only 14 but as his 15th birthday falls during the 2020 season, he can move up to the senior class. I wanted to challenge him and to stretch his stride with a more competitive and experienced field.

He did not disappoint. Luca’s step-up to the senior class was impressive. He was tremendously competitive all day. He was fastest in warm up, took pole in qualifying, 3rd in Heat 1, 2nd in Heat 2 and finished 4th in the Main, even after his left rear hub moved inwards 1/2 inch on his rear axle altering substantially the handling of the kart.

Under the circumstances, it was a very good drive.
